@prologic@twtxt.net @bender@twtxt.net @eapl.me@eapl.me @andros@twtxt.andros.dev Iâm new in the neighborhood and I would like to ask you something :) When a new extension is published in twtxt.dev , is it open for discussion or ready for implementation?
Itâs ready đ„ł! https://dm-echo.andros.dev/
An example: https://dm-echo.andros.dev/generate/?url=https://twtxt.andros.dev/
#twtxt
@prologic@twtxt.net @bender@twtxt.net @eapl.me@eapl.me I think opening another file is a bad idea because it adds complexity to the clients, breaks the single feed and I think keeping legacy clients will be more complex to add new features in the future. A modern approach is important.
Iâll be honest, Iâm a bit tired of the fight around the direct message. Perhaps, we can remove it as an extension and use the alternative @prologic@twtxt.net . My suggestion apparently doesnât like to the community. I have no problem with remove it.
@eapl.me@eapl.me When it is up and running, I promise to add it to the specification. I will also include some corrections.
The nature of twtxt does not allow us to selectively hide clients. Itâs a problem not with DM, but with any extension.
@prologic@twtxt.net Yes, it is a security hole. All dm-echo messages are readable. I intend it to be a debugging tool. Maybe I can include a warning message. If many of you see that it is a serious problem, I can remove the links.
@xuu@txt.sour.is Itâs already much better than Mastodon :P . Maybe we can remove the sender and receiver references with an intermediary register.
@bender@twtxt.net author explained why they do this https://girlboss.ceo/~strawberry/conduwuit.txt
I donât ask much from browser or OS, just that it doesnât spy on me.
@eapl.me@eapl.me You asked me for private keys for testing purposes. I have added it to the bottom of this page: https://dm-echo.andros.dev/
It will soon be running. It wonât be long now.
Good quote: «Corrects in private and congratulates in public».
OrâŠ: «Corrects in direct message and congratulates in twt» đ

AI problems, top to bottom:
1: Open AI nerds, believe fine tuning a language model algorithm, will eventually produce an AGI god.
2: Subpar artists and techbros who canât code, convinced AI image bashing and vibe coding, will help convince the dumber parts of Internet, they are a real deal.
3: Parasites, using AI to scam people, because they just want passive income, selling crap, made by an automated process.
Side: Adobe&co, killing Flash/old web, pricing new artists and developers out, to face learning curves of free tools, or use AI, peddled as solution.
@bender@twtxt.net Totally agree with you 100%. No photo could ever replace the experience of seeing it live on site!
@bender@twtxt.net Just like you, I change the wallpaper on my PC more often! However, @prologic@twtxt.netâs âLake Viewâ photo is perfect for my laptop, where I spend quite a bit of time.
@movq@www.uninformativ.de I still have a photo taken by @prologic@twtxt.net as wallpaper on my laptop (Linux)! đ

Nice! Otherwise, still no presence of large predators in your area?
the Fireworks and Confetti animations are amazing. It reminds me a lot of my first code on QBasic a few years ago.
@prologic@twtxt.net Iâm not sure if thatâs an intended behaviour but twtxt.net

This is a reminder to have a look to S.M.A.R.T. data I guess O:)
@prologic@twtxt.net itâs fine, I never expected my yeets, to be preserved for future generations. Any art I posted here, can be found through my (now almost entirely HTML 5 complient) website.
Sometimes, we spend months stuck in inertia, distracted by screens and routine. So Iâd like to give you a simple reminder: creating-in whatever form-is what makes you feel alive.
The beauty of working on projects is not in their âsuccessâ, but in the simple act of working on them. Whether itâs writing, cooking, programming or redecorating the house: play with ideas without pressure, engage in an activity to test, fail and discover without judgement.
In the end, what remains is not a perfect product, but the satisfaction of completion and valuable lessons.
Find a project, no matter how small, and let it take you without expectations.
We should look at this thread

This is sooo cool, it reminds me of learning QBasic (and then Visual Basic) in the 90s

@lyse@lyse.isobeef.org I do agree âthe rules of the webâ, are far too loose - at least the syntax ones. I do think backwards compatibility is necessary.
As for my website, it might be visually very similar, to how it looked since its creation, many years ago, but it is frequently improved. Features that originally used JavaScript, changed to HTML and CSS components, code simplified, optimised to withstand browser updates and new screen resolutions,⊠Even a good chunk of the errors on your list, were already addressed and I plan to address the rest soon.
Just find it a bit depressing, that my attempt to bring back some of the old Internet spirit, by making a hidden easteregg page page for this years April 1st, was met with people complaining about April fools day jokes and you insinuating my website sucks.
In Mexico you couldnât register the word Sonora (state), nor Taqueria (kind of restaurant) as there are two common words, but perhaps the combination of both is trademarkable, Iâm not sure, so many âtaqueriasâ here donât file a trademark request. Itâs usually âTaquerĂa

@lyse@lyse.isobeef.org Iâm allways on the frontline! đ
I have just received the royalties for the last book: 98 euros for the four-month period, about 24 euros a month on average. Not even enough for the gym membership.
If you have to keep some knowledge: donât write for money, the paper (or ebook) industry is in a very bad way, the margins for the author are very small and piracy is devastating.
Hello, i want to present my new revolution twtxt v3 format - twjson
Thatâs why you should use it:
- Itâs easy to to parse
- Itâs easy to read (in formatted mode :D)
- It used actually \n for newlines, you donât need unprintable symbols
- Forget about hash collisions because using full hash
Here is my twjson feed: https://doesnm.p.psf.lt/twjson.json
And twtxt2json converter: https://doesnm.p.psf.lt/twjson.js
@lyse@lyse.isobeef.org you must be loved by all the web developers in town! But ok, I have added all the missing semicolons, that should technically be there, but them not being there, does not make a difference.
Font color change inside every summary element, was a very deliberate choice, to color the text, but leave the arrow black (same as website background). But ok, I rewrote the CSS to hide the arrows and make all summaries white - since this also works better, with some dark theme enforcing browser extensions.
HOWEVER âpâ as a child element of âsummaryâ is a thing, that as far as I know, all browsers respect and if a font color is applied only once, I donât think it matters, if itâs done through HTML or CSS, you smart ass.
Thereâs a secret art easter egg thing, hidden on my website ( https://thecanine.ueuo.com ), for this years April fools event - itâs been there for a few weeks, but now I can finally give hints.

https://eapl.me/rfc0001/
thanks @prologic!
@bender the idea of the RFC was to reach an agreement on a difficult problem, receiving proposals, and the voting is a simple count to gauge the sentiment of âis this a problem worth to be fixed?, are we committed to implement a change in our clients?â
But thatâs a fair point. What do the community expect? What do yâall expect?

Please share the link with the twtxt community, and leave your vote on your preferred proposals, which will be used to gauge the perceived benefits.
